Bizarre inscription
OK, I thought I understood this whole inscription business. Prophecies weapons can have an inherent inscription, Nightfall and EotN weapons can have a replaceable one, etc. Then I wound up with an axe from a Darkstone Chest whose inscription gives +15% damage/-1 health regeneration. Is it normal for weapons to drop with inherent inscriptions that don't match anything you can put in an inscription slot?

Yes, it's sorta normal. There's also a +15/-1 energy for weapons. And all the +10 AL vs creature types for shields.
FYI, the vamp weapons (like yours) can go for a bit of cash to PvP players. It'd be a good idea to get it pricechecked, since it may be worth some plat. |

I thought double vamp weapons to 'suicide' before timer are standard in higher end pvp. Or I am wrong?
And yes the existence of 15/-1HP is nothing new under the sun. Although they seem to be rare. Last edited by Ben-A-BoO; Dec 21, 2009 at 08:06 AM // 08:06.. |

It's not a inscription
It's a base damage mod. You can't take it out from the axe so is not that rare. There are a lot of 15/-1 weapons with different skin old school. IGN: Baku The Killer. |

Oh, so that's what old school means. Took me long enough to figure that one out.
I suppose I'll try to get a price check, and/or merch it since I'm not exactly in the unusual items trade. Thank you all for the advice and perspective! |

i'd pay a decent chunk of change for that battlepick and i'm sure others would too. double vamps are just 15% unconditional damage, and are fairly rare.

right it is inherent to the weapon. Go and get a Vampiric Axe mod and slap that baby on there and sell it as a double modded Vamp axe.
That is one nice drop |
